Fundraising Fundraising & Donations Hammond Street Senior Center's annual campaign encourages our members to make donations which help keep our programs, activities and classes available to area seniors. These gifts are very important to us and are completely tax deductible. HSSC actively seeks grants from foundations and corporations as well as the cities and towns that make up our membership. The generosity of these contributions helps our center grow and improve. Aunt Nellie's Attic, our thrift shop that is located in Holden, is a wonderful fundraising resource. This shop is open seasonally and is run entirely by volunteers who have great fun merchandising the treasures that are donated by members as well as by businesses and communities. Memorial Giving Members, families, and friends of the Center can be recognized through memorial gifts to Hammond Street Senior Center. A memorial gift is one of the most meaningful ways to express your sympathy to families. Your gift is a remembrance of the past, and at the same time, a promise of a living, growing legacy, benefiting the community for years to come. To establish a memorial gift, please call Hammond Street Senior Center at (207) 262-5532 with the name you would like the fund to carry and the name and address to whom gifts should be reported. Include in the obituary: "In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Couri Foundation for the Hammond Street Senior Center Memorial Fund. Checks should be mailed to the Hammond Street Senior Center; 2 Hammond Street, Bangor, Maine 04401."
